Please take this into account when purchasing this product, we cannot accept returns because you do not like the color. While our plating is a full 8 mils in thickness and it should last a lifetime under frequent use. Constant use, when worn everyday for example, will cause the plating to wear away quicker and the plating will not last as long. Plating is a chemical reaction and some processes can affect it. Processes such as sweating, being exposed to cleaning chemicals, cooking products (such as acids in lemon juice and salsa), etc. can loosens the bonding and cause it wear away. Even Vermeil plating, while much thicker, cannot be guaranteed for life under constant use and vermeil has at least 2500 nanometers of thickness! Companies that absolutely guarantee the plating count on you not remembering where you received it or not taking the time to return the product. Their plating also fades and is likely not thicker than our standard plating, they just reassure you and gamble on you not returning the product. We are honest and say that it could happen but that under frequent use (a few days per week for example) and proper care, it should give you a lifetime of enjoyment!
