2011 Rate Change Information

To help you plan for the coming year, we want you to know about new UPS rate and service enhancements that will take effect January 5, 2011.

Package
UPS published small package Daily and Retail rates will change as follows*:

  • UPS Ground rates will increase an average of 5.9%. 
  • Air and International services will increase an average net of 4.9% through a combination of a 6.9% increase in rates and a 2% reduction in the Air and International Fuel Surcharge index as published on ups.com
  • 2011 Surcharges and Accessorials

    The following changes will be made to small package surcharges and accessorials:

  • Delivery Area Surcharges for commercial and residential addresses will increase $0.10.  The Retail Rate will increase $0.05.  A new $0.25 premium will apply to residential destinations designated as Extended.  The Delivery Area Surcharge for UPS Hundredweight services will increase $0.50.
  • Residential Surcharges will increase $0.10*. The Hundredweight Residential Surcharge will increase $1.00.
  • The Daily Rate charge for Declared Value will increase $0.05 per $100 of Declared Value with a minimum charge of $1.95.
  • The Additional Handling Charge will increase $1.00 and will apply to US Export Services.
  • The Address Correction charge for UPS Ground packages will increase $2.00.*
  • The charges for Delivery Confirmation*, Delivery Confirmation – Signature Required and Delivery Confirmation – Adult Signature Required will increase $0.25.
  • The Automatic Daily Pickup charge will increase $1.00.*
  • The charge for Saturday Pickup will increase $2.50.*
  • The charge for Saturday Delivery will increase $2.50.  The Retail Rate will increase $0.50.
  • The Hazardous Materials charge applied to UPS Ground and Air Services will increase $2.50.
  • The surcharge applied to UPS Next Day Early AM will increase $2.50.*
  • The minimum billable weight for UPS Hundredweight Services will change.  Refer to the Hundredweight published materials for more information.
  • The Disbursement Fee Minimum and Entry Preparation Charges for imports will increase $0.50.
  • UPS Freight®
    Published rates for UPS Freight® service will increase 5.9%*. The rate increase applies to the current UPS Freight 560 Tariff.

We ship via UPS & USPS 

  • Standard Ground Contiguous US is 2-10 business days
  • Second Day Air Contiguous US is 1-2 business days
  • Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands via USPS or UPS

The cost for shipping is based upon your total order amount. 

Use the table below as a quick reference for calculating your shipping charge.

(For shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam,

& US Virgin Islands select shipping method AK/HI/PR/VA.)


  • UPS has accelerated there ground network to save a day or more on ground
    deliveries to many destinations. AlihamsGiftOutlet.com cannot guarantee exact UPS delivery dates
    on ground packages.

  • Shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands may be shipped via USPS and
    take up to 4 weeks delivery. Oversize furniture and beds may be delivered by truck and delivery
    charges will be noted on that item.
  •  Please review your ship to address information carefully. All costs incurred for incorrect or inadequate shipping or
    billing information are the responsibility of the customer and will be charged accordingly. For
    example: UPS will charge a fee for missing information such as Rd., Ln., St, Ave., Etc. Your account
    will be a $10 fee for any address corrections or adjustments to your original ship to address.
  • If you are selecting expedited shipping, please note product ship times as listed on product page.
    The choice of 2nd Day Air Shipping will not alter the product ship time as noted on the item page.
    The 2nd day air will only expedite the transit time from the warehouse to you once the items ship.
    Please call our customer service department to help with special requests.
  • Our goal is to process all orders within 48 hours of receipt. Orders are processed and shipped
    during regular business hours (Monday through Friday 10:00AM - 5:00PM EST, excluding holidays).
    If we encounter any problems processing or shipping your order you will be contacted via phone or email.
    If you are selecting expedited shipping, please note product ship times as listed on product page.
    The choice of 2nd Day Air Shipping will not alter the product ship time as noted on the item page.
    The 2nd day air will only expedite the transit time from our warehouse to you.
  • We accept international orders (including Canada and England), on several items throughout the store
    Simply add items into your AliHamsGiftOutlet cart and select that available shipping method (cjeck individual policy)
    You will receive one or more tracking numbers on the confirmation e-mail we send you when your order is shipped.
